The San Francisco duo Boy in Static combine the clicks, bleeps, and buzzes of electro-pop with classical string instrumentation, all under gentle vocal melodies. The result is a sunny breed of west coast pop that's really just adorable. The self-released video for "Young San Francisco" off their '09 album Candy Cigarette especially keys in the cute; it's a colorful montage of little kids playing instruments with the song's lyrics handwritten on the frames.
