San Francisco Indie and Electronica fans will be in rapture this weekend, hanging out on an island in the bay, enjoying the sounds of Empire of the Sun, Cut Copy, Death From Above 1979, Chromeo, Battles, Death Cab for Cutie, St. Vincent and Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks, just to name a few.
Now in its fourth year, the Treasure Island Music Festival is still growing. The island Indie festival never asks artists back for a repeat performance, so the line-up is consistently fresh.
Tickets range in price from $69.50 for a single day ticket, $125 for two days, and VIP passes for $119.50 and $219.50, for single and double day tickets respectively. VIP tickets include access to areas closer to the main stage, access to a tented lounge and private restrooms. All tickets include free parking at San Francisco’s AT&T Park with a shuttle to the island that runs on a continuous loop all day.
Considering the line-up of 26 Indie and Electronic bands 70 bucks a day is a pretty fair price.
Death From Above 1979 fans (really who isn’t one) will have a rare chance to see a band that recently reformed at last years South by Southwest festival and have rarely played shows since. For a serious Death From Above 1979 listener the 70-dollar price tag is a great deal. In addition JFK of Death From Above 1979 and MSTRKRFT is playing a night show for an additional charge of $20.
Sony Entertainment Network is also sponsoring a separate stage for DJ’s, Silent Disco. Headliners for Silent Disco include DJ Dials and Ground Control.
You heard it here San Francisco, float out on a bay island and enjoy some music.
